Happy Christmas Alyce Blog Hop

This post is for a very special lady, who's amazing colouring I have admired for quite some time.

Dear Alyce,

I think I first saw one of your amazing cards on the Tiddly Inks Design team about 2 years ago and secretly started stalking your work and watching all your videos - lol.

I was thrilled when you decided to share your knowledge and creativity with everyone when you created the Kit & Clowder Site, loving the Facebook page too, such great people there - Really must get back to those classes in the new year.

It is a rare thing for someone with so much talent to be willing to share and nurture others to become better and  you do it so wonderfully,  your group is truly one of the friendliest and most inspiring around.

So, this card was made especially for you

Sweet Lady and wishing you all the very best for 2015.

P.S. I promise to finish my classes next year :)

All White

Todays new challenge at   is 'All White'.

I had to really think about this one, as It is very hard to do an all white card, but also incorporate an image of a person.

With this is mind I chose 'Bella Bride Sassy' from Sassy Studio Designs to use for my card, I thought being an image with a white wedding dress would make it a little easier and indeed it did, although I took the liberty of adding pink flowers and of course coloured her skin and hair.

I used Copics to colour the image and then decided to go over the black lines of her dress with a silver metallic gel pen, added a little light grey shading and then went over the entire dress with a clear wink of stella.

I think you can just about see the twinkle on the dress in this photo.  I also added some ultra fine glitter to her flowers.

I used a snowflake embossing folder for the base layer and then cut a rose heart to go on top with a smaller heart and sentiment.

I also added a little love banner, which like the rose heart is from the Silhouette store.

I added this photo as although it is dark you can see the layers a little better.

I finished with a few gems across her dress and on the hearts for some sparkle

I am so happy with how this turned out, just need a bride to send it to now!

Thanks for stopping  by and please check out all the lovely creations by my teamies.

Christmas Card Swap

Over at the Kit & Clowder Facebook page there is a lovely christmas card swap going on.

We were given a random member to create and send a card to and now my card has been received I can share.

I cut  the layers on my Cameo, I wanted to create a little forest scene background and decided to add a lampost as a reference to the Narnia books, which were a childhood favourite.

The snowflakes are a die I borrowed from my Sister and the Ivy is a tattered lace die.

The little skater is from The Paper Shelter and she has been coloured with Copics.

I used a clear wink of stella pen on the white parts of her outfit, but it does not show so clearly in the photos, it just added a nice shimmer.  I also added some fine glitter to the little wooden reindeer.

This is the little message I had from the recipient, so glad she liked it.

Hi i have been away for a few weeks as my grandchildren were ill and i came home to happy mail !! yay. I received the most beautiful card and generous gifts i cannot thank Julie Reed enough.

Open-Minded Crafting Fun - Unusual Christmas

Morning everyone, it is new challenge day over at Open-Minded Crafting Fun and the new theme is 'Unusual Christmas'.

Unfortunately I completely missed the mark on this one and the idea in my head didn't really end up so much unusual as fairly typical.  I even convinced myself I was using untraditional colours, Teal and Pink, but really it has ended up looking Red and Green.

Anyway, even though I missed the point, I still really like the end result.

I started by using  my Cameo sketch pens to draw the snowflake swirls and words.

I then put the paper through my printer and added this cute image by A&T Digital Designs called 'The Larkins'.

I have coloured the image with Copics and added a few elements with glitter gel pens.

Finishing off with some snowflake die cuts and goosebumps gems.

I hope you will come and join us and perhaps have better luck interpreting the theme than I die.

As always we have some fab sponsors.

Christmas Cactus

Yay, its new release time at Aurora Wings with the lovely Chrismas Cactus Sprite.

For my showcase inspiration I have coloured her with a mix of Copics and Prisma Premier pencils.  I wanted to get a nice blend of pink, orange and red, which I think I have achieved.

Not so happy with my skin, I think its time to clean those Copics!

I did a print and cut and layered onto my new Noor Design die, that I won in a recent completion on their facebook page, thanks Tracey, I love it and it cuts beautifully.

The backing paper has been in my draw for years, so no idea where it came from.

I decided to only add a couple of embellishments all cut on my Grand Calibur.  The ivy is by Tattered Lace and the Poinsettia is by Leane Creative.

Isn't she adorable and just in time for Xmas.

Challenges I would like to enter:-

Grateful

We have a new challenge for you over at Open Minded Crafting Fun, the theme this fortnight is "Grateful'.

I have used a lovely image by the The Stamping Chef, she was a freebie a little while back on Facebook.

I actually made this card for my wonderful MIL, who has been helping us out so much with school pickups and looking after out little one, while I attended some hospital appointments.  Thanks Mummy Reed :)

The image is coloured with Copics and then cut to size with a spellbinders die.

I made a cross over style card, so I could slot in an oversized tag, printed with a sentiment and little message.

I used a new embossing folder on the blue card and added some lacy borders cut on my Cameo.

I added a fern flourish, some mini roses and a little bling just to finish off.

We would love you to come over an join us this fortnight and as always we have some fab sponsors.

I cut the image in Vinyl and applied to one pearlescent card and framed with red.  Attached to a black card base added a little wooden heart and Voila.

Christmas Tree Sprite

Finally, my first christmas card, after I promised myself I would start early this year!!

This is my Showcase card for the new release over by Aurora Wings, you can find all the details on the Aurora Wings Showcase Blog and also see the other lovely projects by my wonderful teamies.

I am so in love with Mitzi's new 'Christmas Tree Sprite', so I am gonna colour me up a whole bunch for more Christmas cards.

Anyway here is my finished project.

The image was coloured with Copics, and I added a little silver gel pen to the greenery to give a little sparkle and a lovely gem for the star on top.

The box card template is a file from The SVG Hut, I just made my own front panel in a round window shape, it is cut in a shimmery white pearlescent card.

The background is a free snowflake paper I found a couple of years back.

The Holly swirl and snowflakes are all from the Silhouette Store and I just added a couple of goosebump gems to the centre.

You can get your Christmas Tree Sprite Here.

Polly wants a Cracker!

Todays card has been made for the latest challenge at Open-Minded Crafting Fun, where the theme this fortnight is 'Fowl of all Kinds'.

The image I have used is 'Polly wants a Cracker', by The Stamping Chef.

She has been coloured with Copics, and also Prismacolor pencils on the parrot to hopefully give a little texture.

I fit the colour scheme to the colour of the parrot, the backing paper is by 1st Edition and called animal antics .

The top die is a tattered lace rose and the bottom is a spellbinders border die I cut down to fit.
