Open-minded Crafting Fun #13 Patriotic Colours

This fortnight over at Open-Minded Crafting Fun the theme is Patriotic Colours.

I have used fun image by The Stamping Chef called 'Plenty of Balls', which fits in nicely with the theme and also the fact that the world cup starts soon.

As it is a patriotic colour challenge and I am from the UK, my colour theme is Red, White and Blue.

For my background I have used the Union Jack flag, which I cut out on my Silhouette Cameo.

The image is coloured with a  mix of Copics and Promarkers, I'm still trying to get the blending on the skin right, I recently changed to proper blending card, but forgot to use it for this image, Doh!

I finished with a bright red hand tied double Bow and a banner which I designed and cut with my Silhouette Cameo.

Papermill

Just a quick post today, as the card I am sharing is a reworking of a card I shared earlier in the month, but I wanted to enter it into the June challenge at the paper mill and what happens a lot in June?

WEDDINGS

Previously I used a very similar design for a sympathy card, but I thought it would also be perfect for a custom order I had for a Vow Renewal/Wedding.

This time I have kept everything white.  All of the die cuts (except the butterfly) are from the Silhouette store, I just love that flower and keep on using it.

The card has a lovely texture and shine to it and is from The Paper Mill, unfortunately I have almost run out now :(

You can enter the challenge using the link below.

Aurora Wings - Shades of Blue

We are halfway through our challenge at Open-Minded Crafting Fun so here is a little more inspiration for you.

It's another gorgeous image by the fantastic Aurora Wings ( I just cannot stop colouring these beauties).

She is called 'Shades of Blue'.  So naturally I decided to colour her.............................. Orange, Yellow and Green - lol.

I have used mostly Promarkers on this image, except for the skin which is Copics and the hair is a mixture of both.

When I started this image I began with the Orchids and I used very subtle pale colours, but it looked very flat and insipid, so I went a bit mad and grabbed a bunch of different oranges, greens and yellows and now have no idea which ones I used!

Don't forget to pop along and join in our Something with wings challenge'

Challenges I would like to enter are:-

Aurora Wings - CAS
Fussy & Fancy - Things with Wings
Digi Stamps for Joy - Flowers
Inky Impressions - For a Girl

Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #118

Marie is hosting the latest challenge at  Crafty Cardmakers & More and she has chosen 'Going Round in Circles' as her theme.

So basically she would like to see Circular cards or at least one circle (of an obvious size please, buttons DO NOT COUNT) on your project.

I have made a few circular cards recently so decided to go a different route and pick a card with many circles.

I started with a circular background from the Silhouette store and picked an image that I have not used in a while from the The Paper Shelter called 'Magic bubbles'.

The little guy is coloured with a mix of Copics and Promarkers.  For the clouds I used a home made stencil with some distress inks.  I also added some glossy accents to make the bubbles shine.

To finish I added some sentiments and a large bow.

I hope I have inspired you to join in at Crafty Cardmakers & More as we have 2 great sponsors this fortnight with some fab prizes.

Open-Minded Crafting Fun #12 - Something with Wings

This fortnights challenge over at Open-Minded Crafting Fun is 'Something with Wings', this is one of my favourite themes - I just love colouring fairies, so this was the perfect opportunity to use another great image by Aurora Wings

The image is called Kawaii Fairy and I have coloured her with a combination of Copics and Promarkers.

I used a Spellbinder embossing folder for the background and then dusted with a mix of Yellow and Green Adirondack inks.

I added some dandelions cut with my Silhouette Cameo and added a gem to the centre of each for a little bling.

To finish I added a preprinted sentiment, a tiny butterfly and some flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Orchids in the Rain

Orchids have been my favourite flower since forever :)

I even remember when I was a little girl, buying one for my Mum on Mothers day, they came individually in a little tiny glass bowl of water and I thought they were so exotic.

Anyway todays card is another Aurora Wings image, that I won recently.

She is called 'Orchids in the Rain'.  I have coloured her with Copics and used another favourite of mine TURQUOISE, I just love this colour.

I have finally got proper blending card - I am using 'Make it Colour ' Blending Card, but I still seem to have a little trouble with my blending!  I guess I just need to practice more.

The Flourish is Memory box, the White Orchid is from Wild Orchid Crafts and the sentiment was drawn on my silhouette Cameo.

Ooh and I also made my own watermark in Watermark Pro, think it needs some tweaking though.

Thanks for stopping by :)
