Aurora Wings Stella Team Blog Hop

Hi everyone and welcome to the Aurora Wings  'Stella Team' Blog Hop.

Hopefully you have joined me from the main site Aurora Wings Blog Hop, if not you can use this link to pop back and check it out.

This hop is designed for you to get to know the new Aurora Wings 'Stella Team' and also for us to 'Show our Style'.

Some of you may already know me from the Aurora Wings Showcase Team, which I have been lucky enough to design for since it began in 2014 and hopefully you have enjoyed seeing my work.  I have been making cards for over 15 years now, but my love of colouring began in 2013.  I have also been a member of the Kit & Clowder coloring community since it began 2 years ago and have seen a huge improvement in my colouring skills.

I am not entirely sure what 'My Style' is, but I am fairly sure I do have one! It is definitely not CAS or Shabby Chic, but maybe somewhere in-between?

Having looked back over my work, I think I take a fairly simple approach to layout and try to make the image the main focus as the colouring is what I enjoy the most, I then enhance with a few embellishments or papers that fit the theme.  Which is exactly what I have done with my project today.

I have used the sweet 'Poppy Sprite' and coloured her with Copics and Graph-It markers.

I then searched for something Poppy related, which bought me too this lovely Poppy outline from the Silhouette store, which is cut from Black Vinyl and layered onto plain Red card stock.

To finish I have layered with Spellbinders dies and added some Tattered Lace butterflies, to which I have added some tiny sparkles too - that's another thing I love - SPARKLE.

Thanks for visiting, I look forward to seeing you at our 1st challenge on 7th March, but in the meantime, don't forget the current challenge by the 'Aurora Team' - Sprite Delight', there is still plenty of time to enter.

For those of you not familiar with 'Inky Pinkies', it is a Polkadoodles Facebook colouring group to share all your fab colouring creations, you can use any image not just Polkadoodles, so pop in and show us your fab creations.

I have used an image called Cinders and of course I have coloured her with my trusty Copics and dusted the background and edges with Pink and Blue distress ink.

I used two different embossing folders for the background in the same colours as the image, adding a lace edge to split them.

Finally finished with some pearl corners, sparkle gems and a hand tied bow.

Thanks for stopping by and do pop back later for a very special blog hop!!!

Morning all, it's been a busy week with my Mum visiting from France, which was lovely, but did not leave any time for crafting, then the dreaded cold hit me on Friday, which meant I didn't feel like crafting :(.

Still I managed to pull something out of the bag for this weeks Inky Pinkies DT Project.  I ended up using another cutie from the Polkadoodles Sticks & Bones collection, called 'Walking the Dinosaur'.

She had been coloured with a mix of Copics and Promarkers.

My Valentine

For this weeks Inky Pinkies DT inspiration I have used the lovely 'Lily Bug love heart balloon' by Polkadoodles and created a Valentines card for my wonderful Hubby.

I started by using a distress embossing folder and inking with 'Fired Brick' Distress ink.

I cut the sentiment in Red vinyl and added to a spellbinders label die cut, I then cut the xoxo on Red card stock, both are from the Silhouette store.

I coloured my Lily Bug Love and the ladybird with Copics and added some Spectrum Noir sparkle pen to the balloon and ladybird.

I painted an mdf heart red and then sprayed with flitter varnish.  Finally adding a la-la land heart banner.

Then I kind of used the PVPP method to create a hanging heart gift, again the sentiment is from the Silhouette store.  I actually layered the heart with a patterned paper first which I then sanded to shape, added the vinyl, painted and peeled.

Hope you all had a lovely Valentines day and got spoilt a little :)

Lily Bug

Have you seen the new collection at Polkadoodles, adorable 'Lily Bug'.

I have used 'Lily Bug Love Hello' for this weeks Inky Pinkies DT inspiration.

I decided to go for a more orange than red ladybug, which I think complements the green polkadot paper, which along with the envelope, ladybug and sentiment are part of the download bundle.

I used my trusty Copics for this image and added a little sparkle pen to the hearts and ladybug and finally added a tattered lace die cut corner.

You can also get the image on it's own here.

Thanks for looking :)

Be Wild

It's been a while since our last Showcase at Aurora Wings, but wow Mitzi has done it again, two stunning Mermaids 'Lady of the Sea' and 'Guardian of the Sea'.

I never tire of colouring these beautiful images and I am definitely a sucker for mermaids and chose to work with 'Lady of the Sea'.

When I first created the layout, I was going to stick to my usual Teals and Greens, then I decided I really wanted to step away from that.  Instead I decided to make her like a flame in the ocean to fit in with the lovely sentiment I found on the silhouette store, hence the Turquoise Sentiment.

I have used both Copics and Graph-it markers in a mix of Red, Orange, Gold and Yellow, for this project.  I also used a black Prisma Premier pencil on her hair for the shading and a gold gel pen for her jewels and crown.

I have kept it as a simple A4 Flat project and put her in a frame next to her Sister 'Mermaid & Baby'.

You can find the images here.

Don't forget to visit the Showcase Blog to see all the wonderful projects by my team-mates.

Extinct

Good Morning everyone, hope you had a good weekend and managed to get some crafting done.

I had a pretty busy weekend, I visited the Winter Crafting show at Sundown and spent far too much money, but I still managed to find a little colouring time.

Today I am sharing my latest Inky Pinkies DT card using another image from the fab Polkadoodles Sticks & Bones collection, which was released recently.

I have used Ferocious Friends, which can also be purchased as a single image.  I also added one of the many sentiments that come with the bundle.

I chose a really simple card layout using some scraps of card I have and no embellishments to showcase the lovely image, also making it perfect for a male card.

The image is coloured with Copics

Have you seen the other new release over at Polkadoodles - the luscious  'Lily Bug', I shall be bringing you something from this collection for my DT project next week.

Thanks for looking :)
