Mermaid Lagoon

It's time for a new Challenge over at Aurora Wings, we have a great challenge this fortnight FANTASY,  so plenty of scope to use all the fab Sprites, Mermaids and Maidens.

I have used the sweet ''Sea Turtle Kiss' - Available here.

I started by spraying my background with Sprinkys in Aegean Sea and Dylusions in Dirty Martini.  Once dry I specked with gold Kuretake Gansai water colour in Gold and finally spritzed with perfect pearls for an iridescent sheen.

I used Copics for my little mermaid and pencils for the turtle.

I added various diecuts and some Fimo Clay shells to complete my Mermaid Lagoon and a sentiment in Gold Vinyl cut on my Silhouette Cameo.

Copic Colours:-

Hair - W9  W7  W5  W3  B00
Skin - B000  B0000  BG10  BG01  G000  G00
Tail - R17  YR18  YR14  YR12  Y17  Y15
Jellyfish - RV10  B000

  1. Oh this is just precious, Julie! I love how the colors your fabulous background mimic the movement of the ocean and the die cuts seem to be swaying with the current. I also love your coloring of the adorable mermaid how she seems to be cradling the cute turtle on her tummy as she relaxes and goes with the flow. The little details are icing on the cake. Adorable project!

  3. Love this mixed media project from you, Julie! There are so many things that you did I like about this from the background to the placement of the little mermaid so she looks like she's lying down with the little turtle on her tummy... and the color palette that I've come to associate with you - tangerine and teal - to the pretty ocean-theme dies. The underwater scene you've created is nothing short of pure magic! Thank you so much for this lovely inspiration for our latest challenge at Aurora Wings today! Mitzi xxx
